DJI Mini & more.

A waterproof drone bag for the DJI Mini 4 & 5 Pro.

Built to fit your drone and controller.

While the standard size fits the DJI Mini 4/5 Pro with controller and batteries, I also offer custom sizes for your specific model.

2–3 compartments inside.

Hook-and-loop dividers split the inside into separate compartments – drone, controller, and depending on your measurements even batteries each get their own slot. Nothing knocks against anything else.

Don't fear the rain.

The shell is waterproof and has fully taped seams, while the rolltop seals tightly against the rain with three rolls. Even then, the padding and liner are waterproof, too.

Quick to launch.

Quick access magnetic lid means you can immediately pull the drone out when the light is good. Two carabiners are included to clip the bag to your backpack shoulder straps or hip belt – keep it close so you can launch fast.

Sizing

The standard Drone Bag is sized for the DJI Mini 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro with controller and batteries. Two hook-and-loop padded dividers split the inside into separate compartments – drone, controller, and (depending on your measurements) batteries each get their own slot.

  • StandardDJI Mini 4 Pro / Mini 5 Pro

    Internal compartmentsDrone box 10 × 7 × 17 cm · Controller box 13.5 × 6 × 17 cm · Battery box 3.5 × 7 × 17 cm. Fits the drone, controller with steering sticks attached, and two stacked batteries.

  • CustomYour drone and controller

How I size itConfigure a custom bag with a custom size and I’ll build it around your drone and controller dimensions for the smallest possible footprint. Your gear will be oriented vertically along its longest axis, and arranged side by side or front to back so the bag is wider than it is deep – keeping the weight close to your body. Depending on your dimensions, I’ll add a third compartment for batteries or small accessories.

Simply enter your drone and controller length, width, and depth in the fields above and I’ll take it from there. Want to confirm the final layout first? Email me at jacob@leichtmut.de.

Weight

Ultra 200X[TBD]
Ecopak EPLX 200125 g
X-Pac RX30[TBD]

Weighed without carabiners. Each bag is made by hand, so weights vary by a few grams. Standard size is the DJI Mini 4/5 Pro fit; custom sizes will weigh different depending on your dimensions.

Ultralight Materials
  • Shell

Your choice of Ecopak EPLX 400 (eco-friendly and my standard), X-Pac RX30 (adds color range at a weight increase), or my premium ultralight fabrics Ultra 100X/200X. These Ultra fabrics are built with super tear- and abrasion-resistant UHMWPE fibers, which means they are best-in-class for their weight.

  • Padding

4 mm Evazote EV50 closed-cell foam – my tested sweet spot and the Drone Bag’s standard. 8 mm is available for larger drones or extra protection on mountain use.

  • Liner

Dyneema Composite Fabric CT2K.18, 34 gsm – same liner as my camera bags. Adhesive hook-and-loop strips on top hold the dividers where you want them. Colors may vary depending on availability – white, black, or red.

  • Dividers

Two hook-and-loop padded dividers split the inside into separate compartments for drone, controller, and (depending on your measurements) batteries.

Waterproofing
  • Rolltop Closure

Designed for three rolls and thus forms a strong barrier against water entry. This is superior to camera bags with zippers (even if the zip keeps water out, the zipper seams that can’t really be taped let water in). Note: While the rolltop provides excellent protection against rain, it’s not designed for submersion.

  • Three waterproof layers

The external shell fabric, the internal liner, and the padding are individually waterproof. To make the best use of this, I’ve designed my camera bags with as few seams as possible. All remaining seams (except for the hem that’s hidden in the rolls) are taped to prevent water sneaking through the stitch holes.

  • Taped Liner

Most camera bags sew the shell and liner together around the padding. That makes properly taping the bag impossible. Instead, I tape the liner directly to the inside of the shell. This eliminates extra seams and further improves water protection thanks to my waterproof liner fabric.

This makes these bags as waterproof as possible without much heavier fabrics and industrial welding equipment. It doesn’t mean 100% waterproof, since I make all bags by hand and seam taping can sometimes trap tiny air bubbles. But with two layers of waterproof fabrics and taped seams (liner + shell fabric), it gets as close to perfect as possible.

Upgrade Options
  • External Stretch Pocket

Gives you extra accessible space. Great for phones, snacks, maps, spare propellers, ND filters and more. Made of durable UltraStretch with UHMWPE fibers. Wraps around the full bag.

  • Extra Side Attachment Points

Provides better balance as a shoulder sling drone bag. You could also use these as additional connection options for extra security. They are reinforced with extra fabric from the inside.

  • Internal Security Loop

This adds a small loop to the inside of the hem at the top of the rolltop. You can use this to tie your drone or a battery to the bag to catch it in case of a drop.

  • 3D Mesh on Body Side

Adds extra cushioning and breathability on the side of the bag that touches your body. Especially useful if you mainly use a waist belt that pulls the bag close.

Attachment Options

Each bag has two full rows of cord loops for lots of attachment possibilities. Carry your bag clipped to your shoulder straps or hip belt, wear it as a shoulder sling or waist bag, tie it to your bike or figure out your own carrying solution.

  • Carabiners

Each bag comes with two small metal carabiners and you can add additional ones. Use these to clip your bag to your backpack’s daisy chain. Note: not suited for climbing.

  • Hip Belt Loops

Adjustable webbing straps that you can attach to the rows of cord loops. Feed your hip belt through the webbing loops that this creates and cinch them tight, or directly feed the straps through attachment points on your hip belt to additionally secure your bag.

  • Shoulder Strap Links

Carabiner on one end, webbing loop on the other. Feed the webbing through a daisy chain or D-ring on your backpack’s shoulder strap, then pass the carabiner end back through the webbing loop and pull tight – the bag now clips securely to your shoulder strap.

  • Fidlock Waist Belt

Adjustable waist belt with a magnetic Fidlock buckle. You can also use this as a simple shoulder sling strap.

  • Shoulder Sling

A dedicated ultralight sling strap with 4 mm padding to carry the bag on its own, without a backpack.

Safety & Manufacturer
  • Carabiners are not climbing equipment

The included carabiners are accessories for clipping the bag to backpack hardware. They are not climbing equipment, fall-arrest hardware, or rated for any human load. Do not use them to secure people, suspend loads, or in any situation where carabiner failure could cause injury.

  • Small parts – choking hazard

The carabiners, the magnetic buckle on the Fidlock strap, and any other small accessories included with the bag are small enough to be swallowed. Keep them and the bag out of reach of children under 3 years. If a child swallows a part, seek medical help immediately.

  • Magnets and medical devices

The bag contains permanent magnets in the rolltop closure, and on the Fidlock strap in the buckle. If you wear a pacemaker, defibrillator, insulin pump, or another active implantable medical device, keep the magnets at least 15 cm from the device and follow your device manufacturer's guidance.

  • Magnets and sensitive media

Magnets can damage or erase magnetic-stripe cards, mechanical watches, hearing aids, and unshielded hard drives. Keep them clear of the closure area.

  • Magnets and children

Keep away from infants and small children. If a magnet works loose and is swallowed – particularly together with another magnet or metal object – it can cause serious internal injury. Stop using the bag immediately if any magnet becomes detached and contact me for repair.

  • Not a toy or child carrier

This bag is designed for camera and gear transport. It is not a toy, child carrier, or pet carrier, and the straps are not certified for any human load.

  • Strap strangulation hazard

Long sling and waist straps can be a strangulation hazard. Do not place straps around the neck of infants or small children, and store the bag out of their reach when not in use.

  • Not a flotation device

The shell fabric and seams are waterproof, but the bag is not a personal flotation device. Do not rely on it for buoyancy in or on water.

  • Care for continued safe use

Spot-clean with a damp cloth and air-dry. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean – these damage the taped seams and the waterproof film on the Dyneema Composite Fabric. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight; UV light degrades DCF over time. Store dry. Inspect seams, magnets, and carabiners before each use; if you find loose stitching, a detached magnet, or a bent gate on a carabiner, stop using the bag and contact me.

The maker

I personally build your bag.

I'm Jacob – a hiker, photographer, and maker who builds these bags for a living. I like to hike in rainy countries like Scotland or Norway, and I've refined my bags to hold up in their wet conditions over hundreds of kilometers on-trail, plus countless hours at the sewing machine.

I will draft an individual pattern for your bag to make sure it fits your camera perfectly. I will use the fabrics and colors you pick, as well as exactly those features you decide you need for your adventures.

Almost every Ultralight Drone Bag I build is slightly different from the last one. That's the part I like most, so I'm very excited to see what you come up with!
